Cookie policy
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used by the Al Mabarrah International Charitable Association website, the purpose of each, and how you control them.
1. What are cookies?
Small files, or data stored by the browser, that the website uses to remember something from one page to the next or from one visit to the next, such as keeping you signed in or the contents of the donation basket.
2. What we use
What the website stores is limited to what is necessary for it to function and what you choose. The website does not currently use advertising cookies, third-party tracking tools or visitor analytics tools.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| mb_donor | Strictly necessary cookie | Keeps you signed in to the Donor space after you sign in. It is created only when you sign in. | Length of the sign-in session |
| mabarrah-basket-v1 | Session storage | Keeps the donation basket as you move between pages. | Until the browser is closed |
| mabarrah-a11y-v1 | Local storage | Keeps your choices in the accessibility panel, such as text size and contrast. | Until you clear it from the browser |
| almabarrah-lang | Local storage | Keeps the display language you have chosen. | Until you clear it from the browser |
| mabarrah-ledger | Local storage | Keeps, on your device only, a summary of your donations from this browser to display on the "My impact" page. | Until you clear it from the browser |
3. Control panel cookies
The Association's control panel uses the cookies mb_admin and mb_csrf to protect sign-in by authorised staff. They are not created for website visitors.
4. The payment page
When you complete a donation, you move to the secure payment page provided by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank through the Mastercard gateway. That page may use its own cookies to protect the transaction, in accordance with the service provider's policies.
5. How to control them
You may delete these cookies and data at any time from your browser settings, or prevent them from being stored. Deleting them does not prevent you from browsing the website or donating, but it signs you out of the Donor space and returns the display settings to their defaults.
6. Updates
If we add a new tool that stores data on your device, such as a tool for measuring visits, we will add it to this page before enabling it, together with the date of the update.
