Terms of use
These terms govern your use of the Al Mabarrah International Charitable Association website and your donations through it. By using the website or completing a donation, you agree to them, so please read them.
1. About the website
This website is the official website of Al Mabarrah International Charitable Association, a public benefit association licensed by the Department of Community Development, Abu Dhabi, Registration no. 50, Licence no. NPO-A-M-104. The website presents the Association's programmes and projects, and enables donating to it, applying for assistance and volunteering.
2. Donating through the website
- Donations are voluntary and are collected in UAE dirhams.
- Electronic payment is made on the secure payment page provided by Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank through the Mastercard gateway, and the Association does not store your card details.
- Donations may also be made by transfer to the Association's approved bank accounts listed on the donation page. No other accounts are an official channel.
- After a successful transaction, the Association issues an electronic receipt stating the donor's name, the amount, type and date of the donation, and the transaction number.
- The donor is responsible for the accuracy of the data they enter, in particular the name, contact details, type of donation and project.
3. Allocation of donations
A donation is spent on the area or project you have chosen. If you have not specified an area, or the project has been fully funded or cannot be implemented, the Association directs the donation to the closest area or the area of greatest need within its approved programmes, in accordance with its policies and the approved controls.
Zakat funds are spent on the eight Sharia categories of Zakat recipients in accordance with the controls approved by the Association. When donating a complete project, such as a mosque or a well, you may request that a name be recorded on the project plaque, where this is permitted under the Association's policy and the rules of the country of implementation.
4. Finality of donations and refund cases
A donation is final once payment has been completed, and is not refunded except in the following cases, after they have been verified:
- A payment repeated in error.
- An incorrect amount entered.
- An amount debited without the transaction being completed.
- A documented technical error in the payment.
- An erroneous bank transfer that can be proven.
A refund is not possible if the amount has actually been spent on the beneficiary or the project, has been transferred to an implementing partner, has been contractually committed, is Zakat or Sadaqah that has been disbursed, or if the transaction details cannot be verified.
A refund request must be submitted within 7 working days of the transaction date, to info@almabarrah.ae or +971 50 789 6755, stating the name, contact details, the transaction number, date and amount, the reason for the request, and proof of payment. We review a complete request within 10 to 15 working days. An approved amount is returned to the original payment method, and the time it takes to appear in your account varies by bank. Any fees charged by the bank or the payment service provider on the refund may be deducted from the refunded amount.
5. Acceptance of donations
The Association reserves the right to review any donation, and to refuse or return it if its source cannot be verified or if it conflicts with the applicable rules, the Association's internal policies or regulatory requirements.
