Volunteering

Volunteer with us, and be part of an impact that lasts

Al Mabarrah International Charitable Association believes that volunteering is a human partnership that creates impact. Join one of our four tracks: field volunteering, media and documentation, translation, or supporting the specialist committees, and give your time and expertise to organised charitable work.

Home/Volunteering

The four volunteering tracks

Field volunteering

Be close to the impact of giving: organising initiatives, distributing aid and supporting seasonal campaigns, while respecting privacy and the dignity of beneficiaries.

Media and documentation

Documenting initiatives in a way that preserves dignity and builds trust: photography, writing, reports and archiving, in line with consents and appearance policies.

Translation

Supporting Arabic and English content and translating introductory materials and reports, accurately but not literally, with care for charitable terminology.

Supporting the specialist committees

Research and organisational support for content on Zakat, Sadaqah and Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity), subject to approval by the relevant committee.

Register your interest

Al Mabarrah International Charitable Association treats volunteers' data in full confidence. It is used only for registration, coordination and contact, within the approved privacy policy. By sending this form, the volunteer confirms that their details are correct and that they will uphold the Association's values.

Volunteer charter and safety instructions

Interim text, awaiting the Association's approval

First: the volunteer charter. As a volunteer with Al Mabarrah International Charitable Association, I undertake:

  1. To volunteer for the sake of doing good, without payment and without expecting personal benefit.
  2. To respect beneficiaries and protect their dignity, treating them kindly and fairly, without discrimination.
  3. To keep confidential whatever I learn about beneficiaries' details and circumstances, neither sharing it nor speaking of it outside the work, even after my volunteering ends.
  4. Not to take or publish photos or videos of beneficiaries without prior permission from the Association's coordinator.
  5. Not to collect donations, money or gifts in the Association's name or for myself, and not to promise beneficiaries any help the Association has not decided on.
  6. To keep to the set times of the volunteering opportunity, and to tell the coordinator in advance if I cannot attend or wish to withdraw.
  7. To follow the Association coordinator's directions on site, and to represent the Association with proper appearance and conduct.
  8. To give correct details when registering, and to update them when they change.
  9. To accept that the Association may decline my application, or end my participation if I breach this charter.

Second: safety instructions.

  1. I follow the safety instructions the coordinator gives before work begins, and use protective equipment whenever asked.
  2. I do not take on any task beyond my ability or experience, and do not use equipment I have not been trained on.
  3. Before taking part, I tell the coordinator of any health condition that could affect my safety or the safety of others.
  4. I make sure to drink water and rest, especially in field work and in hot weather.
  5. I stop work immediately if I see a danger to myself or others, and inform the coordinator.
  6. I report any injury or incident to the coordinator straight away, however minor.
  7. I leave an emergency contact when registering.

Third: volunteers under 18.

  1. An application from anyone under 18 is accepted only with their guardian's consent, given through a confirmation link sent to the guardian's e-mail.
  2. In giving consent, the guardian confirms that they have read this charter and the safety instructions.
  3. The Association sets the minimum age for each volunteering opportunity.

Fourth: declaration. I confirm that I have read the volunteer charter and the safety instructions, and I agree to abide by them.

Volunteers' data

When you register as a volunteer with Al Mabarrah International Charitable Association, we collect the details you enter in the volunteer form, such as your name, contact details, skills and available times. We also collect any document you choose to upload, and the guardian's details for anyone under 18.

Purpose: We use this data to review your application, contact you about volunteering opportunities, organise attendance, count volunteering hours and issue participation certificates. We do not use it for any other purpose without your consent.

Access: Only authorised staff of the Association can see your data and documents. Uploaded documents are never public, and can only be downloaded from the Association's admin panel.

Sharing: We do not sell your data or share it with anyone, unless the law requires it or you consent. Any recording of your hours on national volunteering platforms is done at your request.

Storage: Data is stored on servers inside the United Arab Emirates, for a period the Association sets in the approved text. When your data is deleted, copies may remain in backups for no more than 30 days, and are then deleted automatically.

Your rights: You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw from volunteering at any time, by writing to us at info@almabarrah.ae. You can also delete your account and volunteering data yourself from your space on the site.

Volunteering partnerships with organisations and schools

We invite organisations, schools and universities to build volunteering partnerships: volunteering days, field campaigns, awareness initiatives and memoranda of understanding that bring staff and students into organised charitable work.
